Two quick steps so you never miss what matters.

Turn on alerts 🔔

Tap the 🔔 bell at the top right and choose Allow. You'll get a push the instant a person is detected.

Add to your Home Screen 📲

First, which app did you open this in? Follow the steps for your browser:

📱 iPhone / iPad — in Safari (the blue compass icon):
1. Tap the Share button 􀈂 (the square with an up-arrow, at the bottom).
2. Scroll down and tap Add to Home Screen.
3. Tap Add in the top-right.

🤖 Android — in Chrome (the red/green/yellow circle icon):
1. Tap the ⋮ menu (three dots, top-right).
2. Tap Add to Home screen (or Install app).
3. Tap Add / Install.

Don't see those options? You may have opened this inside another app (like Messages or Instagram). Open the Sentinel link in Safari (iPhone) or Chrome (Android) instead. Installing is what lets alerts reach you even when the app is closed.

📖 How Sentinel works

🔔 Alerts — when a camera sees a person, your phone buzzes. Tap the alert to jump straight to what happened.

📋 Activity tab — every event is saved here with a plain-English description of what happened and the time. Tap any one to watch it.

▶️ Watch a recording — tap an event, then the play button in the video, to watch it with sound.

🎬 Best quality vs 📶 Data saver — videos play in Data saver (smaller, loads fast on any connection). On strong WiFi it switches to Best quality (sharper) on its own. While watching, tap the quality button to switch yourself — Data saver if your internet is slow, Best quality if it's fast.

🔴 Live — tap Live on a camera to see what's happening right now. The battery cameras take a few seconds to wake up.

🛡 Security Summary — the box at the top of the Dashboard tells you, in plain English, everything that happened since you last opened the app.

✦ Ask Sentinel — tap the sparkle button to ask things like “what happened while I was away?” — or to teach it (“that truck is ours”).

💬 Tell Sentinel about this — on any event, tap this to teach Sentinel in your own words (e.g. “that's our truck — don't flag it,” or “people on the sidewalk here are fine”). It remembers and applies it to future alerts.

🟢 Status bar — the colored bar near the top is your at-a-glance: green “all quiet,” amber “a camera's offline / recent alert,” red “system offline — your account is fine.”

🔋 Battery — each camera shows its charge. ⚡ means charging, 💤 means asleep (showing its last reading). You'll get a “charge soon” heads-up early, before it dies.

🔕 One alert per visit — a delivery driver or someone lingering buzzes your phone once, not over and over. Every event is still saved under Activity.

⚠️ Outage banner — if the cameras can't be reached, a banner says so plainly (“this is NOT your account”). Tap the ✕ to close it; it'll come back if the problem persists.

ⓘ Info buttons — tap any little ⓘ next to a feature to read — or hear (🔊) — what you're looking at.

↻ Pull down on any screen to refresh it.

⚙️ Settings — choose how much you want to be alerted, and change your password.

🟢All quiet — cameras are watching

🟠Heads up — a camera's offline or a recent alert

🔴System offline — your account is still fine
